Basic Diver Tenerife - a safe and enjoyable way to try scuba diving
The Basic Diver Program is a short introductory scuba program if you want to try diving. The program takes around 3,5 hours. We’ll start with a briefing and some basic scuba theory so you can feel safe and comfortable in the water. The in-water part is about an hour long. We'll start in shallow water where you will learn some essential scuba skills, after which your instructor will take you to a dive to maximum depth of 12 meters. This depth is perfectly safe for a first dive, but deep enough to encounter interesting marine life.
If you want a more simple introductory experience, choose our Try Scuba program, with a maximum depth of 5 meters. Read more here.
Our Dive Center is in Abades, at one of Tenerife’s best dive spots, just 100 meters away from the beach. Abades is home to resident green sea turtles, rays and colourful reef fish. Your dive is the first step into a new world – one that can completely transform how you experience the ocean. Experience being weightless in the underwater world and discover the hidden marine life beneath Tenerife’s waters. Learning to dive is much easier than you think and the best way to start it is the Basic Diver Program. If you decide to do get certified within 6 months, everything you learn counts towards the full Open Water Diver (OWD) certification, making it a great stepping stone to get certified

Basic Diver Tenerife - Program details

The program includes
  • Scuba diving insurance
  • Full rental Equipment
  • Theory, briefing, preparation and a dive starting in shallow water followed by a dive to a depth of 12 meters maximum.
  • You will be looked after by a Scuba Professional and you will receive a digital Recognition Card.
Prerequisites:
  • Minimum age of 10 years old, able to swim unaided.
  • No prior scuba experience required.
  • We will aks you to fill out this Medical Form.
Please bring with you
  • your Passport or ID, swimwear and towel and a bottle of water to drink
What's the next course?
  • Choose our globally recognized SSI Open Water Course to become a certified diver in 3-4 days. If you decide to get certified within 6 months, everything you learn during your Basic Diver program counts towards the full Open Water Diver (OWD) certification, making it a great stepping stone to get certified.
