Guided Night Diving in Abades

Abades dive site is one of the best locations for night dives in Tenerife thanks to its:

  • sheltered bay protected from currents and swell
  • easy shore entry
  • varied sandy and rocky terrain
  • consistent marine life activity

At night, the reef becomes especially active. Sandy areas often reveal rays and octopus, while rocky sections are home to sleeping fish and hidden species emerging after dark.

If you want to learn more about the site itself, visit our Diving in Abades guide.

Night diving in Tenerife is possible year-round thanks to the island’s stable water temperatures and sheltered shore dive sites. Our guided night dives are carefully planned based on sea conditions and diver experience, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience while exploring the underwater world after dark.

A Completely Different Underwater Experience at Night

A typical night dive in Tenerife starts before sunset. After equipment setup and briefing, we enter the water while there is still daylight and slowly transition into full darkness underwater. As the light fades:

  • daytime marine life settles
  • nocturnal species become active
  • visibility shifts to your torch beam
  • the reef feels completely different
