15 Jun Surfacing Next To A Pretty Salp

We loved surfacing alongside this super cool, pretty Salp on this morning’s dive in #Abades Bay. 🥰

These barrel shaped organisms are tunicates, they have a hollow tube through their center that they pull water through so they can filter microscopic plankton for food. As they squirt the filtered water out, they do so with enough force that it propels them through the water.

Pretty cool, right?
